PreK Program

Program Details

Our PreK classes for 4-5 year old students get them prepared for Kindergarten.  Here, students continue to grow and develop, while still being academically challenged.  Our 4-5 year olds are introduced to kindergarten concepts in a small setting and are encouraged to work at their own pace.  Skills are taught through fun hands-on projects and activities, including art, cooking, and science experiments.

These skills include:

  • Sequencing

  • Patterning

  • Problem Solving

  • Word formation

  • Early Reading

  • Storytelling

  • Refining gross and fine motor skills

  • Proper classroom etiquette, such as taking turns to speak and raising hands

Families who have participated in this program have felt their child was more than well-prepared for kindergarten, both socially and academically.  Both Miss Jenny and Miss Karen have advanced education degrees and experience teaching in elementary schools.  They use their knowledge and teaching skills to make sure that every child who graduates from St. Luke's is ready for Kindergarten and beyond!

Children in our PreK classes must be independent and self sufficient when using the restroom.
