It's hard to imagine the holiday season is here, but for us at St. Luke's, IT IS! This week we kicked off our celebration of Halloween with preparations for our first school event, Dad's Night.
Our 3s classes learned all about pumpkins and the color orange. We had orange day, and made pumpkin kites.
Students in the 4s classes also learned about pumpkins and made water bottle jack-o-lanterns. Our number focus this week was the #6.
Time to Growers practiced recognizing the letter "Gg" and identifying its sound and words and objects that begin with the letter "g". We worked on our "Gg" book and continued working on writing. Finally, we made grilled cheese sandwiches in cooking class!
But the biggest excitement of all was practicing and preparing for Dad's night. All the students worked really hard on learning and memorizing their songs and dances. We had a wonderful turnout for all groups. We carved pumpkins (some really clever ones!), enjoyed hotdogs and snacks, and ran and played with friends. The evening concluded with a special performance by the students for all the dads. We would like to thank all the parents who participated. It is such a wonderful time for the students, and they are so proud not only to be able to perform for the dads, but also to be able to share their dads with their friends. Well done to all!
Next week, our fun continues with Halloween week!
