Week in Review: Oct. 10-14
This past week was a tremendously busy and eventful week for our students with school pictures and various field trips thrown into the mix.
The 3s and 4s classes focused on Safety. The 4s had their week kicked off with a visit to the fire department on Monday, and on Tuesday, the West County EMS & Fire team visited the 3s classes. We learned about tips to stay safe in case of a fire, including dropping and rolling, and staying low on the ground. We also talked about escape plans. A big THANK YOU to our parent volunteers who helped out with the field trip on Monday.
Safety week also included learning about 911, our phone numbers and addresses, and an introduction to stranger danger. We encourage all parents to continue having these discussions with your children at home to help solidify these important safety tips they've learned in class.
In our Time To Grow class, the students took a field trip to Rombach farms. We did a scavenger hunt as a way to help us review all of our letter sounds that we've learned so far. Our letter focus this week was the letter "Ff." In cooking class, we continued to learn about measuring and science (we watched solid butter melt into a liquid on the griddle) as we made french toast. Thank you to our parent volunteer for helping with the field trip.
Hope everyone enjoys the weekend. We look forward to another busy week next week. Don't forget next Thursday, October 20th is our Dad's Night event!
