St. Luke's March "Time To Grow Newsletter"
Your children continue to grow and blossom both socially and academically as we work on many acitivites to enhance their skills. We practice our handwriting daily and put words with pictures for our prereading skills. Continue encouraging these important skills with your children at home.
We have almost completed the alphabet! Our letters this month will be R, S, and T. Many of the children are beginning to put words together, and asking for help in spelling. This is wonderful! March will be "game of the month." Each child is asked to share a favorite game to be brought in on their special snack day.
Field Trip: This month, our field trip will be to Pet Smart. We will leave the school as soon as everyone gets here, so don't be late.
Spring Break: Please note that school will be closed Monday, March 21st through Friday, March 25th for Spring Break. School will resume on Monday, March 28th. Enjoy!
Thanks: A special thanks to all the moms and dads who baked, planned and participated at the Valentine Party. The children really enoyed the wonderful snacks, crafts and games which took a lot of preparation. Thanks!
100 Day Party: We will have our 100 days of school party on Wednesday, March 16th. This will be a very low key day as we celebrate 100 days together. The Time-To-Growers work so hard that I feel they deserve a break. Please bring in something with 100 items in it so the children can see 100 objects together. Some ideas might be 100 M & Ms, cereal, toothpicks, stickers, etc. Please count them out with your child to reinforce their counting skills. We will divide up everyone's 100 items among the children after we count them.
Summer School: Once again, we will be doing a summer school that will run from Tuesday, March 31st through Friday, June 10th from 9:00AM-11:30AM. We will begin the Tuesday after Memorial Day. It is only open to the first 10 children, so please let Mrs. Cahill know as soon as possible if you are interested. The price is $120 for two weeks.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
