St. Luke's March "3s Newsletter"
The children are blossoming socially! They are playing, sharing, and getting along with others very nicely! Fine motor skills are developing nicely as well. We will concentrate on language development and listening skills along with new fine and gross motor skills during the month of March.
March is devoted to Nursery Rhymes at St. Luke's Preschool. "Mary Had A Little Lamb," "Humpty Dumpty," "Little Miss Muffet," and "Hickory Dickory Dock" are a few we will focus on. We hope to hit on everyone's favorites and act out some in class. Please encourage your child to repeat these at home for you! We will be concentrating on learning some very simple directional words using the Nursery Rhymes. Of course, our projects will continue to increase in cutting and coloring skill. Keep a close eye on the calendar as Thursday, March 3rd we'll be reading "The Old Lady In The Shoe," so we're asking the children to wear two different shoes. We'll also play a fun game with our shoes and talk about all the different kind of shoes we have. St. Patrick's Day activities will also be an important part of our month! Remember to wear green on Thursday, March 17th!
Show And Tell: We will have two show and tells this month as the children just love this activity and it also gives us an opportunity to do something with the Nursery Rhymes and St. Patrick's Day.
Spring Break: Please note that school will be closed Monday, March 21st through Friday, March 25th for Spring Break. School will resume on Monday, March 28th. Enjoy!
Thanks: A special thanks to all the moms and dads who baked, planned and participated at the Valentine Party. The children really enoyed the wonderful snacks, crafts and games which took a lot of preparation. Thanks!
Summer School: Once again, we will be doing a summer school that will run from Tuesday, March 31st through Friday, June 10th from 9:00AM-11:30AM. We will begin the Tuesday after Memorial Day. It is only open to the first 10 children, so please let Mrs. Cahill know as soon as possible if you are interested. The price is $120 for two weeks.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
