St. Luke's Preschool Week In Review: January 23-25
After a long break and a very short week in the middle of the month, our students settled back into routine last week and didn't miss a beat. In addition to our weekly units, we had a special visitor on Tuesday come in and talk about our eyes and "took our pictures" with a special camera that told her how healthy our eyes were. Week In Review: January 9-12
Students arrived refreshed from break and ready to learn this week. On top of our new units, students were also hard at work preparing worksheets and projects to demonstrate what they've learned so far in preparation for our upcoming conferences. St. Luke's Preschool Week In Review: Dec. 5-10
Last week, students continued working hard on their Christmas projects. Students in the 3s learned all about reindeers. 4 year-olds were introduced to the alphabet, starting of course with the letter "Aa." Our letter-themed projects included angels and Advent wreaths. In Time To Grow, students learned about the letter "Ll" and made lasagna in cooking class, and lion masks. All students also worked hard on making their special Christmas gifts for parents! St. Luke's Week In Review: Nov. 28 - Dec. 2
Our students returned from Thanksgiving vacation refreshed and ready to dive head first into Christmas. They were all happy to be back and to see their friends, for which we were very pleased. We continued to develop motor skills, basic color, number and letter recognition, and shapes for the 3s and 4s last week by focusing on our first Christmas-themed unit: gingerbread. Thanksgiving Week In Review: Nov. 14-18
Our kids have been hard at work and have been wonderful troopers. In addition to learning our regular weekly units, the children have continued working on costumes and preparing for their upcoming holiday program. The 3s learned about Indians this week, and shared with their friends something they were thankful for during this month's show-n-tell. St. Luke's Week In Review: Oct. 31-Nov. 4
The students at St. Luke's are hard at work getting ready for Thanksgiving. The 4s and Time To Growers had a moment to enjoy some Halloween fun on Monday with their parties, but immediately shifted focus to preparing for their next holiday event: Thanksgiving Feast! Our students spent time this week learning about Pilgrims and Indians, and the meaning of Thanksgiving. Dad's Night and Weekly Recap
It's hard to imagine the holiday season is here, but for us at St. Luke's, IT IS! This week we kicked off our celebration of Halloween with preparations for our first school event, Dad's Night. Our 3s classes learned all about pumpkins and the color orange. We had orange day, and made pumpkin kites. Week in Review: Oct. 10-14
This past week was a tremendously busy and eventful week for our students with school pictures and various field trips thrown into the mix. The 3s and 4s classes focused on Safety. The 4s had their week kicked off with a visit to the fire department on Monday, and on Tuesday, the West County EMS & Fire team visited the 3s classes. St. Luke's Week In Review: Sept. 26-30
The last week of September focused on fall. Students in the 3's and 4's classes talked about "autumn" and the changing leaves. We learned about why leaves change color as the temperatures get cooler. The kids got outside to collect a variety of leaves which were used in leaf rubbing and painting projects. We looked at the different colors, shapes and sizes of leaves that were collected, and tied it in to one of our very first topics of the school year: diversity. It was a gre
